We are urgently recruiting an experienced Executive Accountant for a reputable organization in the Maritime industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial management, audit, and accounting expertise, with hands-on experience in maritime and shipping operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification is mandatory (ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
- 5–10 years of post-NYSC experience in an Accounting or Finance role.
- Proven experience in the Maritime and Shipping industry is compulsory.
- Strong background in Audit.
- Sound knowledge and practical experience in Accounts Payable.
- Experience working with Clearing and Forwarding Operations.
- Proficiency in Bank Reconciliation and Vendor Reconciliation.
- Hands-on experience with Excel and accounting software such as Epicor, Oracle 11i, SAP HANA, or Tally.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities.
- Oversee Accounts Payable processes and vendor payments.
- Perform bank and vendor reconciliations.
- Support internal and external audit exercises.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare accurate financial reports and management information.
- Collaborate with operational teams to support maritime and clearing & forwarding activities.
