We are seeking a highly experienced Drilling Engineer to join our client’s team in Abuja. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing drilling operations while ensuring safety, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and execute drilling programs for oil and gas wells.
- Develop drilling procedures, well designs, and operational plans.
- Monitor drilling operations and optimize performance to minimize non-productive time.
- Collaborate with geologists, reservoir engineers, HSE personnel, and drilling contractors to ensure successful project execution.
- Analyze drilling data and recommend technical and operational improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and HSE regulations.
- Prepare drilling budgets, schedules, risk assessments, and technical reports.
- Conduct post-well evaluations and implement lessons learned to improve future drilling campaigns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years’ proven experience as a Drilling Engineer in the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of well planning, drilling hydraulics, casing design, cementing, well control, and drilling optimization.
- Proficiency in drilling engineering software and reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Valid IWCF or IADC Well Control certification will be an added advantage.
