VACANCY: HVAC Designer & Draughtsman
Location: Nigeria
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HVAC Designer & Draughtsman to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing HVAC design drawings, layouts, and technical documentation for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to develop efficient, cost-effective, and code-compliant HVAC system designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed HVAC design drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant drafting software.
- Develop ductwork, piping, ventilation, air-conditioning, and mechanical services drawings.
- Assist with HVAC load calculations and equipment sizing based on project requirements.
- Produce shop drawings, as-built drawings, and construction documentation.
- Review and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Coordinate HVAC designs with other engineering disciplines to prevent clashes and ensure seamless project integration.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
- Revise drawings based on engineer and client feedback.
- Maintain accurate drawing records and project documentation.
- Provide technical support during project execution and installation phases.
Requirements
- HND/B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HVAC design and drafting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other relevant design software.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, ducting, piping, ventilation, and mechanical services.
- Knowledge of HVAC design standards and local/international building codes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in commercial, industrial, or oil & gas projects.
- Familiarity with HVAC load calculation software such as HAP, Carrier, or equivalent.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.
